Beauty is coming back to the forefront of the contemporary art scene which makes me super happy. I couldn't be more thrilled with the winner of the Turner Prize this year and see it only fitting that the painting featured above will be whited over at the end of the month. Renewal! Way to go.

The Turner favors conceptualists (and especially subtractive conceptualists) over everything else.
They consider artists like Shonibare, then pass over them.
Many years their choices irk me (I don't think they're very big on choosing women either).
This is pretty though.
If you're an artist who thinks more like an art critic than an artist, you have a good chance of being nominated.
"Art is over" seems to be the premise of the Turner Prize.
I can understand that as a viable position, but then why not do something funny and just pick someone doing something which doesn't remotely resemble art, even though they're calling it that.
Because their conceptualists still resemble other conceptualists of DECADES past.
