The Old-Clothes Woman

The piercing eye with which you see
What they contain essentially
Separates my rags from me
And naked I go as a deity.

My Day in Drawings

Excersize Seven

An experiment:
Relax your eyes.
As you hear the music let your focus naturally guide you to different parts of the drawing.
See the story?

White Suns

More music - different vibe. Tell me you don't get the chills watching this! These guys are intense and very real. The White Suns are one of my favorite bands and play in CT occasionally. Drummer Dana has his own project called Cancer Dance and is definitely worth checking out. Improv/Noise bands are like abstract art and impressionist poetry. Let the whole of the music in instead of trying to pick up every note and you'll get an impression of what is being expressed. With no words to distract you, thought can cease and you'll feel alive rather than entertained. Hope you like it.

Shy Child

This is a video from the Fashion Rocks show. When I saw the band perform this song on TV it made me remember what quality is most important to me in any creative arena. Passion, enthusiasm and being taken by the moment, when expressed, offer a gift to the world. Just look at his face! The models are taken in to the moment, having such a great time and even the audience is engaged. Consciousness is contagious!

Sappho Does Hay(na)ku Hand-bound Edition

Sephyrus.com will be offering the Sappho Does Hay(na)ku, by Scott Keeney, hand-bound paperback edition in September. Scott writes poetry in many forms which can be read on his blog nobodyintherain and by following the links to his other blogbooks. His non-egoic pursuit in writing has excited me to publish one of his compilations. Sappho is a collection of 77 poems that deal in love, lust and sarcasm. For a better review than this check out Bill Keckler's blog, Joe Brainard's Pyjamas. Thanks Scott, for sharing yourself with us.

Eckhart Tolle

I've been listening to Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" audiobook. His soothing voice allows the info to seep into my brain. Listening to this kind of message keeps my ego in check much more so than if left to my own devices. I realized how much ego had gotten into Sephyrus (the candle shop) without any notice. My real purpose for having a business is to support artists who are present during their work. The kind of energy that is expressed when this non-ego, creative state happens is pure universal love. It can take any form; writing, painting, a candle, etc. So this purpose and ego don't mesh. Yay for Eckhart Tolle and his gentle reminders :)

Wow, crazy things are happenin'

With all that I have been through you'd think I wouldn't be suprised by supernatural phenomena...
Well, I am not immune to being surprised or even scared. A few months ago I started seeing through walls. It didn't happen all the time, but a few times a day it would happen. Glancing to the left and noticing the closet through the bedroom wall happened the most. Of course I thought I was just hallucinating, but nope. It still happens sometimes. I don't pay much attention to it because I don't want to it so stop. For now I am just observing. Well, there is really no point to this...comments are welcome :)

New Directions

Which direction, who knows! Whatever creative sparks I am in tune with lately have given me a surge of passion. A hole starting from my heart chakra extends far beyond my physical body and a new world is calling me to paint it. The timing is right for such a thing to occur as a new moon approaches this week. After I finish the series of paintings I will post the images.

If any of you out there are feeling the need to create wildly, go for it! The release of emotions and ideas into art is therapeutic and magical. Feel free to post your art here and show the rest of us.

Lisa Williams, Great Show

I just watched the Lisa Williams show on lifetime. She is great! I am so glad to see readings right there on television for everyone to see. People cry, get hugs, laugh... It is a true representation of a medium's readings. If you have been wanting a reading but are a little hesitant I encourage you to check out her show. Thanks Lisa for bringing mediums up out of the darkess and showing the world that we are only around to help!

New Schedule, New Classes

Hygeia has welcomed me in and I will be giving walk-in readings throughout the week in addition to the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Feel free to stop in anytime, if you see the sign outside "The Psychic Is In," that's me! I am so happy to be there and am ready for your reading.

New classes are in the works. I will be teaching Intuitive drawing/painting and Energy Awareness. Very exciting stuff designed to sensitize people to the subtle world of energy. Schedules for these classes and detailed descriptions are to come.

Commencement

I am leaving the world for the forest

and hoping that the knomes and faeries will help me out

charging forth with little sight

making randomness and eager for it to be something

waiting for a response

I have decided to leave school and pursue a real life

a life with meaning and value to others

giving of myself, feeling great

feeling beyond myself

I am expanding into you and anyone else who enters my field

it is an exciting time and yet

intimidating as blank paper

I am a wasp caught on the wrong side of the window

banging my body into the glass and waiting

until I fly into the open air

so sephyrus – bringer of light, a ship who will carry people to themselves

hail them aboard and turn them around until they smack into a land unfamiliar but looked at everyday in the mirror. Commune with their souls and say 'welcome home'

my mission, however carried out is this.

My intention – to bring people to themselves

as I have done with me!

Yay!

'Chat With a Medium' at Hygeia

I felt the need to post about my experiences today at Hygeia. I hosted my first class today and it went fabulously. The connection between the guests and the positive attitudes were overwhelming. We discussed the role of spirit guides, what energy looks like and how to view your own aura. The participants came in not realizing that they see energy everyday and left with a sense of empowerment knowing they can do more than they think. I want to thank everyone who came in today. My role at Hygeia has empowered me more than I every could have predicted...and I'm psychic... :)

Thanks!

Colors of the Soul

I have been reading 'Destiny of Souls,' by Newton and I was brought new insight into my preference of colors. Colors have always had a profound influence on me and I use them everyday to evoke certain moods or to explain situations or emotions. Newton's book describes the ascention of souls and their corresponding colors. Here is the order he describes:

level I
1. white
2. off-white, gray with tints of pink
Level II
3. white and reddish pink
4. light orange yellow with tints of white
Level III
5. yellow
Level III-IV
6. deep gold, gold with tints of green
Level IV
7. green or brownish green
Level V
8. light blue, light blue with gold; green or brown tints
Level V-VI
9. Deep Blue
Level VI-Higher Levels
10. Deep Blue with tints of purple
Higher Levels
11. Purple

As a child until recently I abhorred the color pink. I would not let it near me and when I accidentally colored my hair pink I wore a hat until it washed out. Even though an equal amount of respect and love goes to all levels of souls, I felt it going backwards to portray myself as pink. As I got older I colored my hair often and my color of choice is green. I feel most at home wearing green clothing, having green hair and also surrounding myself in the green of nature. This is not to say that my soul level is green, but that I feel at peace being green on earth. Before my fascination with green truly got out of hand I thought of myself as a yellow. My husband referred to me as yellow and I accepted this at the time. It is possible that I have evolved past this in my years on earth. I will only be certain when I arrive back home.

If you are particular to a certain color it may mean that your soul is currently in that color level. Especially if you feel drawn to that color more than others for an extended period of time. Short term color usages could mean that you are using that color to overcome specific events or shortcomings.

Reading up on the meaning of colors is sometimes difficult because almost every culture has a different interpretation. Using your intuition is usually best. It is easy to determine what colors mean to you. Make large color cards or gather clothing in a range of colors. One at a time, hold each color in front of you and relax. Record what each color makes you feel inside. Does red elicit energy to excersize or do you feel like taking a nap?

If this does not help, you can be aware of what color of clothing you grab in the mornings when you feel most tired and when you feel the most energized. This knowledge can be helpdul when you desire a boost in evergy. You can also take relaxing colored clothing on vacation.

Color is a magnificent thing and it is yours to admire or use in any way you wish.
